Protoscar Lampo2 Previewed Ahead of Geneva Debut

Images and video of the Protoscar Lampo2 have been released in advance of its debut. The Swiss vehicle R&D firm will unveil their quick-charge electric car at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2.

The two-seat roadster works as a four-wheel drive model thanks to the use of two electric motors. The motors combine for 300 kW, roughly 408 PS (402 hp), and up to 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque, a huge improvement on the first Lampo's 197 kW (268 PS / 264 hp) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft). The car can sprint to 100 km/h in five seconds before reaching its top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph).

Using a fully-charged 30 kWh Lithium-Ion battery, the car is able to be driven a distance of 200 km. Impressively, the company has also developed a fast charging system providing the car with an extra 100km (62 mi) of range when plugged in for under 10 minutes.

Improvements on the previous concept include better aerodynamics, which has resulted in a completely different front end. Reduced weight and a more efficient drivetrain are also featured on the new model.. In Geneva, the Protoscar Lampo2 will appear with items that could help improve the infrastructure needed for electric vehicles.
